FundingThe need for services that support seniors is expanding while public funds for essential services continue to decline. Providing needed services to allow our older neighbors to remain in their homes is usually less expensive than providing institutional long-term care . In home services will be supported by the Foundation and could include: Food related programs that provide healthy diets to older adults in their homes, or at dining centers where social activities are enjoyed. Transportation for medical care, shopping and other travel needs. Housing programs to improve living conditions such as rental assistance or home modifications that are needed to accommodate physical limitations. Education to inform individuals about insurance, legal matters, health and wellness, in-home care and numerous other issues pertinent to older people. Employment programs that offer specialized training and helps older Kansans find jobs
